I need some help with the tempdb database. Everytime I restart sql server my user logins become invalid. I get a message that server user is not a valid user of database tempdb. Then I have to go an give each user tempdb access for them to use the application. I know I'm doing something wrong. please help!!!!

The tempdb is completely cleared out each time the server restarts (as you've noticed), and this includes user rights for that database. It sounds like you are making tempdb the default database for users; generally, I would think this is a bad idea.

Um... one thing to note here... All uses have access to tempdb at all times. Every user belongs to public and tempdb makes use of this fact to allow access to it.

I addressed mbfloyd's other question in another post.
