I am evaluating SQL Server 2008, but with the evalutaion edition I cannot increase the maximum amount of memory. It peaks at 2.14gigs of RAM and will not allow me to allocate anything above that.

Is this well known or can I adjust this anywhere else aside from the individual SQL Servers properties.

The Eval edition only supports ~2 Gigs of RAM (usually stops at 1.8 Gigs). Standard and Enterprise support how ever much RAM the host OS supports.
