Hi all

I have installed SQL Server 2005 on a server which contains 2 GB of RAM. the Default memory allocated is 400 MB. I want to increase it to 1.5 GB for SQL Server 2005 to use.

Can any one please let me know how to do it.
Please let me know the prons and cons

Thanks in Advance

Is this server a dedicated SQL Server? If not you might not want to bump it up that high.
Right click on the server name in SSMS and select properties.
in the "Select a Page" option select memory.
In the Maximim server memory box enter 1536. That is the value in MB that is 1.5 GB.
Click the OK button
