Hi all,

I've worked with SQL Server 2000 for about 3 years now, I've been offered a job as a dba for the 2005 version and I'm going to have an interview that will be strong in performance tunning. Is 2005 a lot different than 2000? any advice on what should brush up?

Thanks in advance

SQL 2005 offers many new dmv's that can help you work through performance issues. I would start by learning as many of those as you can.

Here is some new stuff

Online Index rebuild
Snapshot isolation level
partitioning functions
XML execution plans
vardecimal datatype (Sp2)
dmvs

and old the old stuff still holds true in regards to tuning SQL
