I have been designing and selling databases for years now. I have numerous customers and most of them are on a network/server.

My questions is probably a dumb one, but what is SQL Server 2000?

I have the Office XP Developer Edition which consists of a total of Seven (7) CD's. I have loaded most of them but not the SQL server 2000.
Do I need to?
Would I load it on my computer or the customers server?
What is the benefit of it if everything works without it?
I guess I need SQL 200 101. Any help would be appreciated.

SQL Server is now one of the top 3 databases in the world when revenue is considered, behind Oracle and IBM, but ahead of Sybase, Informix (or what's left of it), MySQL, etc.

However, SQL Server will only run on one operating system - guess which one?
