I need to move our primary enterprise application to a new physical server. The current server is SQL Server 2000, the new one is 2005. I'm fine with the basic DB move, but there are logins, linked servers, DTS packages, maintenance plans, jobs, Reporting Services, deployment settings in Visual Studio .NET, etc., etc. that also have to move and get hooked back up to the new instance.

There are a lot of posts here covering various aspects of all of those challenges. I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion on a single resource or organized collection of resources that would assist me in completing this task with a minimum of hair pulling and wheel reinventing?

There are numerous DBAs which are available all over the country that can help you out with this. You may want to check with your local consulting company. You can also check with your local SQL Server Users Group and see if they have anyone they can refer you to.

I was hoping for a FAQ someplace that might have collected things in one place, or something like that. I have scripts to do parts of this, knowledge base articles for other parts and experience for a few pieces, but there seems to be no single place that has collected all the issues and solutions into one package.
