Okay, hopefully someone can help me here... Don't ask me why it's setup this way, but my company has SQL Server 2000 as its development server and SQL Server 7 as its production server(???? frustrating!!!). But anyway, I have DTS packages set up in the 2000 DB and running on a schedule. Can these packages be exported to a SQL 7 DB? I know there were some improvement from 7 to 2000, so I'm hoping they are backward-compatible. By the way, the DTS packages are just transferring data from an AS/400 table to the database. If this isn't an issue, then how would I move the DTS package? I don't see the option to create a SQL script for it. Do I have to recreate it on the production server? Thanks in advance for any help.

there's a very handy utility by Darren Green - DTSBackup 2000, it could help you transfer your packages between sql servers. im almost sure that sql2k packages can be installed on a sql 7 server, but you have to try it.
if the packages are not too large just try to recreate them manually if there are problems
