SQL Server 2000 and 7 on same box 1

Does anyone know if it is possible to run SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 7 on the same box at the same time? Are there any issues that come up?

Yes it is possible. How you go about it will depends on whether or not you're starting from scratch. For more info see:

esp the paras on named and default instances.

My development machine has both on them. Make sure you install sql 7 first. You dont really have to, it just makes life alot easier since you dont have to worry about making the sql2000 a named instance from the start. If i was reinstalling, i would go sqly7, sp update, sql2000, sp update.
