My DTS job runs with no error but start adding the data half way down the sheet. Thought this could be due to using office 2003 any ideas??

I just came across this today funnily enough!
I found that if there was data in the template at some point and someone has highlighted the rows on the spreadsheet and clicked "clear contents" as opposed to "delete", then it appended where it left off.
Try going in, highloghting the entire set or rows that are empty at the top and doing a delete.
