Hi All,

we would like to restore a database from a live system to a test cluster. I started the SQL user on the active test cluster node, opened the networker SQL user, choose "Restore", "Copy", "A Networker SQL Server client", choose the live SQL client and the database. The job failed with the following message:

Recovering files of client 'livesql2' from server 'backup1' to client 'TESTSQL2'.
43708:nsrsqlrc:Start time: Wed Aug 05 11:52:06 2009
43621:nsrsqlrc:Computer Name: TESTSQL01 User Name: testuser
70046:nsrsqlrc:No SQL Servers found: 0xFFFFFFFF.
43636:nsrsqlrc: Warning: could not establish job id with jobd. Continuing on.
65208:nsrsqlrc:rcovmain.cpp(577): Error initializing the job.
Failed to connect to jobs deamon
NetWorker Server testsql01 is unavailable or does not support Jobs Daemon.

A google search wasn't really helpful. Maybe someone here had similar problems?

Regards,
Oliver

The computer you loggedc on for recovery was named TESTSQL01.
Is TESTSQL02 the other cluster node or the name of the virtual cluster service ?
Log on to the cluster node which is hosting the virtual cluster service you want to recover to.
This cluster instance must be defined as a networker client, you select this client to recover.

In the remote access attribute of this client you have to specify the physical Clusternodes and the original sql server you backed up.

I logged on to TESTSQL2 which is the virtual cluster name. This name resides on the physical node TESTSQL01 (TESTSQL02 is the passive node).
Both nodes and the virtual names are defined as clients (a scheduled backup works). I added the servers to the remote access list of the virtual client, but I still get the same error + the following message:

Internal system error, please see nsr\applogs\xbsa.messages on the client system for reason.

The file contains this message

_nwbsa_is_retryable_error: received a retryable network error (Severity 4 Number 15): Program not registered
