SQL Reporting Services

Hi

I have heard about SQL Reporting Services and thought I would give it a try. However I have come across a problem with installing it, I keep getting the following error:

"The edition of the Report Server Database is not supported on the edition of SQL Server 2000 you have chosen. Please select another SQL Server that matches the requirements."

I am installing the Developer version of Reporting Services which I have read is teh correct version while developing.

I am running Win XP Pro SP1 and SQL Server 2000 Personal Edition in my development environment. Any ideas?

I would also be very grateful for your views on Reporting Services, is it better than Crystal Reports?

Yeah: Reporting Services doesn't run on Personal Edition or MSDE. You have to install it on an instance of Standard or Enterprise.

But im a bit stuck at the moment as I have tried to install SQL 2000 Standard edition on my Win XP box but it wont let me. So now what do I do?

I dont really want to have to change my OS to Windows 2000 Server. I have a copy of SQL 2000 Developer will reporting services work on this?

Server OS is required. No way around it, I'm afraid.

OK so I have started using SQL Reporting Services to do my reports. So I have installed Reporting Services and I am using VS .Net 2003 to create my RDL's.

However I have noticed that my reports are created at

http://localhost/ReportServer/myReport

however I am working on a web application which resides in http//localhost/myWebProject . I am not keen on having two web addresses for this one project and would like my reports project to reside in side my web project.

So basically I could give my user a URL of

http://localhost/myWebProject/myReport

I was wondering is this possible?
