sql query to run in microsoft access to create a form

I have a sql query that I need to run in microsoft access and create a report based on this query. Is any way I can run the query in microsoft access without using pass-through query, for some reason when I try to create the form is keeps prompting to select the data source, even I selected the data source and keeps prompting and prompting...Any thougts please
