SQL Query in CR returning duplicate rows of data

Hi, I am using crystal 7.0 and trying to eliminate a duplicate problem. Certain parameters bring back the data 3x, but I cannot find anything that would be that multiplier. I cannot use 'suppress if duplicated' as some data items are supposed to be returned more than once, but this case deals with EVERYTHING returned being in a multiple of 3.

Any suggestions where I can look if nothing else in the data sets points to (in this case) a 3?

Maybe some clarification would be helpful. I am trying to get resources for a course(equipment,inventory,etc.) where there can be several copies of each, but they are repeating in some cases and not consecutively:

part_no equip.name1
part_no equip.name2
part_no equip.name1
part_no equip.name2

There are left outer joins from the course table to the resources (equip,inv) tables. Thanks again.
