SQL queries for all docs, all objects etc.

Hello,

We are using Livelink 9.5 SP1 and MS SQL 2000.

Our management is asking us to provide the following info from our livelink database:

1. Count of ALL objects
2. Count of ALL versions of ALL objects
3. Count of ALL documents
4. Count of ALL versions of ALL documents

Can somebody help with the queries to accomplish these?

Have you looked at any of the live reports that OT supplies out of the box and seen how you could tweak one of them ?

Thank you for replying. Yes, we have tweaked a few Live Reports and also our DBA helped us with queries. We also discussed it with OT.

But there seems to be some confusion about the results. The numbers are coming out quite low than the higher managements' expectations.

Therefore I posted here to find out if anybody else can help us with the queries I posted above.

You need to understand how livelink uses the schema.the schema is available to you when you sign an nda.The schema is IP of OT so one is not allowed in public forums like this to actually name the tables.

so if I wrote something like this

select count(*) from documentable(i know the right name but omitting it) where subtype=144 is akin to saying give me all documents in livelink.Perhaps your managment does not care about documents in
(projects,compound documents,workflow attachments,deleted volumes,personal workspaces and a whole lot of other container objects that can have a 144) so if there is a qn on number tallies you would want to explain how things are in the system.

Thru SQL you can alawys figure out the things too by putting suitable filters.

This seems to be a problesm I have encountered.If you count all the files in the files stem and try to co-relate the ones in livelink there might be problems

Thank you once again. OT did tell us to try with Sub Types (i.e. 144 etc.), and we are also doing it by Sub Types.

I guess we are doing it right and the numbers are real even though they appear to be low.
