Hi,

Having recently upgraded to Dynamics 9 we have noticed that SQL Options are no longer available under Tools>>Setup>>System

User Activity has been moved to the Utilities menu, I assume to avoid users need for the System password to remove their 'hung' sessions, but I cannot find SQL Options??

Any pointers would be good.

Thanks

hung sessions are actually a thing of the past in v9 (my opininon) --- if they get 'bumped' and come back in to Dynamics users get a screen that says that they are already logged on and are asked if they want to log the old session off & the new session on - has saved us a BOAT LOAD of headaches.

specifically what SQL options are you looking for?

sorry I kind of went off on one about hung sessions, yes it does save a boat load of headaches :))

What we were looking for is the SQL options you used to have to switch off or on for Database Users and Server Logins when issues arose with user Id's and passwords.

Pre-version 9 this was used sometimes after restoring to test companies.

I restore to a test company on an occasional (every other month) basis & have had zero problems with users & their passwords for THAT reason...

I know that v9 & sql2005 get WAY more picky about MiXeD case passwords...

That option is gone. A user can only be created through the front end and passwords can not be unencrytped anymore. if the passowrd has been changed on the sql side, when the user logs into Great Plains they will be asked to change their password.

Thanks klewis thought that might be the case.
