SQL Net Send not working correctly

My boss wanted to have a Net Send (that I am already getting) also sent to him when the 'situation' came up. He was already getting net sends until he had to swich to an XP machine. Now I can not get the SQL Net Send to find his machine for the test. I can ping his machine and can see his instance of SQL --- BUT can not issue a test message from 'operators' panel to his machine.

Can net send any of the windows 2k pro machines as well and have verified that his windows messanger service is running.

Make sure that he didn't get the xp firewall turned on.

Can you issue a net send from another station to his machine?

Between the ESP=ON and the RUM (Read Users Mind) upgrade, I'm ready to go.

nm --- I went down there on a whim and had him stop & restart the service - things are working now... very odd.

no idea what would have killed it or when in the last few hours (since he got here) but... it is working now, which was the problem
