SQL Manager MS SQL 2005

I just completely uninstalled and reinstalled SQL with plenty of reboots. I installed with a named instance using mixed mode authentication. The SQL Manager tool is missing although the DLL and RLL for sqlmanager are there. Any ideas?

For sql 2005 and SQL 2008 the Management studio is a separate component you need to select during the installation. The management tools are not automatically installed by selecting the database install.

Hi:
The management studio is installed, it's just the sqlmanager.exe that allows you to easily turn services on and off that is gone. I removed everything and reinstalled SQL 2000 preparatory to reinstalling SQL2005 and it's back.

The SQL Manager is no longer included with SQL Server, and stopping and starting services isn't something that needs to be done all that often, and can easily be done via Computer Management, Services Applet, Command Line, Power Shell, Management Studio, etc.

Hi:
Thanks for the info. I do have to stop and start different versions of SQL quite often as I use data from different versions. Mainly because keeping all of the ones I might use open at a given time is too big a resource drain. At any rate, I did reinstall 2000 and it's back. It's all what you get used to I suppose.
