SQL logs file not updating

I have a log file that seems to be to large 88000000 bytes
where the other are only 10000bytes and everytime i click on the log with Enterprise Manager (EM dies). I dont want to stop the server as its a production machine. Can i stop start the log so it creates a new one?

any help would be greatly excepted.

A second thought - why is the log so big. I found one common cause is that the sql server security audit is set to All a big overhead if you dont need it, I would normally set audit to failures unless Im doing some investigations.
