SQl login failed error

Hi,

We migrated to SQl server 2005 and it is in mixed mode.
When I try to create a function from my client (local) machine then it gives me an error "Login failed for User JOHN", but when I remotely login to server and try to create a function, it works fine. Can someone please help me with this.
