When I installed SQL I go to the Server properties General page and instead of getting Name: ServerName. I get Name: (Local).

In addition it is listed as (Local)(Windows NT) even though this SQL 2000 on a Windows server 2003 server.

Has anyone seen this before?
Could you tell me how to revert to Name: Servername?

Kind regards

I assume you mean the name of the server that is listed by default in Enterprise Manager after installed? All you have to do is delete that server registration, then right click New Server Registration and go through the wizard. Select the server name from the list and then enter the sa password and then finish.

if you are on the same server then you will se always "Local" instead of name, but if you on other machine and login on server from other machine then you will see the name of server.
