Hi,
I was wondering what licensing option would be correct for a SQL Server (standard edition) database server.

I have a web front end running Cold Fusion MX. Internet users then connect to IIS to run apps which are Cold Fusion.

Would i need licensing for the number of cold fusion connections to the SQL Server or per number of users connecting to the SQL Server?

Look forward to your replies.

Regards,
Vinay

According to MS, you cannot "multiplex" your licenses. You must have a license for each user or user-device that will directly or indirectly (i.e., through a web server) access the database.

Unless you can control the total number of users that will access the database (not usual for a web site), then you need to look at per-processor licenses .
