Does anyone know if you can check what license was used in SQL 2000?

Thanks,

BM

Are we speaking of "Per Processor" vs "Per Seat"?

Thanks

J. Kusch

both. i mean aside from the paper work. is there a way to tell from the machine if the sql admin does not know?

I know one has to be per cpu cause the license was like $70K and it is backend for web farm.

but there are others that i am not sure of.

Is there a way to see?

Thanks,

BM

You may be able to go to Control Panel and look for a SQL Server 2000 Lic. Icon. In there it should show you what lic. info you are looking for.

Thanks

It also depends on how the admin set up the server. If they set it for per-processor mode, but licensed it by CALs (common since the built-in license counter doesn't seem to count correctly), you may not get the correct info. The paperwork is the legal standard.

Figured so. Anyway, the most info I figured I could get was CD key and nothing more. Thanks.
