Hi All,
I am finding my options in implementing alerts/notifications in case a sql job (maintenance or application related jobs) fails.
We have Windows 2003 and SQL Server 2000 environment. In a test machine with outlook 2003 (email acct. configured is connecting to an exchange server), testing of auto-notification is configured and tested and it will satisfy our need. My concern is... will it be safe to configure and install Outlook in a production environment or it's too risky?
Is there any other ways to setup auto-notifications/alerts when a sql job fails without the outlook option?
Thanks,
thriverit
