Unsure if this is the right place to post this, so i am posting it in several places.

We have server 2008 standard installed

We have an application that uses an sql db on this server.

The first user (in the morning) to use the application has massive issues with moving records.

To solve the issues, all that is needed to be done is to log onto the server - and thats it.

Unsure how to trace the problem, does anybody have any suggestions.

Many thanks in advance.

HI,

Is the server running a screen saver, or turning on some kind of power saving options?

No, the server is not generally used that much to log on and do things.

All exchange/sql tasks are done via my own computer.

We only log onto the server in the morning to sort this issue out, and still can't understand why it is doing it.

The hard drives do not turn off at all (or are not set to anyway)

HI,

Has it always done this or has it just started?

are there any error in the event log

Are you sure all the screen savers are turned off?

2008 has a ACPI for processor power management are the power management features turned off (also can be in the bios)

does the server run a backup over night?

Is the server a Small business server?

the server does run backup.

Nothing is in the event log from what i can tell that is causing the issue.

I have not checked the bios to be honest, will need to do that outside working hours!!

It is not SBS, 2008 standard.
