k.....i 've install sbs 2003 R2 on a dell server.the installation is simple(as i saw!!).My problem is that during the installation it install sql also(i never configure sql before). Now when the software guy came to configure sql with their software he could not find enterprise manager/Management Studio. The service is there and is running but u can't do a lot(i guess) without management interface....right???.The server host a small domain(is the PDC). I dont know if something went wrong during the installation, cause it was asking for the cds after o/s finished.I was just inserting the cd when it was asked to, and i was doing something else.In event viewer there was no error concerning sql. Also in program files i cant see any icon of the enterprise mngr/Management Studio.
Now how can i find/install(from sbs cds) enterprise mngr? Will sbs 2003 accept a new installation of sql srv 2005(not from sbs cds,if i can not do it from existing cds) )??

Thanx

If you installed SBS 2003 Standard edition, it installs the Windows 2000 MSDE version of SQL. That SQL is for running the SharePoint and monitoring components of SBS. That version is only configurable through the command-line or with 3rd-party SQL tools like this one:

I've used the MSDE to set up line-of-business applications, but many vendors don't like to work with it. I'm pretty sure that's what you have in front of you.

If you purchased Windows SBS 2003 Premium Edition, you will be able to use the Premium cd to install SQL 2005 Workgroup edition, which comes with SQL Management Studio, but it doesn't sound like that's what you got.
