I am looking to learn how to write SQL in Crystal Reports 2008 to help develop my skills and also help my reports run quicker. Would anyone please be able to point me in the direction of any user guides I would be able to make use of and/or download to help?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What type of database are you connecting to - MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc? Although SQL has a standard set of key words etc, each database has its own idiosynchrasies.

A book that I usually recommend for the basics is The Practical SQL Handbook by Bowman, et al. There's also a SQL for Dummies book available - the Dummies series is usually pretty good.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Just a comment. Ken Hamady's guide is focused on SQL expressions (subqueries, etc.), not on SQL in general as you would use it more broadly in commands, but it still would be helpful.
