Hi

I'm totally new to DB2. I downloaded the free personal edition. I got through the few problems but while installing I get an error SQL0567N which means "authorization ID is not a valid authorization ID".

To fix, instructions indicate that I need to correct the invalid authorization ID. How do I do this? Also, how do I actually sign on to install the sample database and then start writing SQL code?

Thanks.

shelby,

DB2 sort of loans authorization id's from the operating system. You can only use an authorization_id that exists in the operating system. This is quite different from other databases like ORACLE where you can define user-id's as such.

The default authorization id is db2admin which should be used I guess. (at least if the personal edition is similar to the server editions)
