I removed SQL and Macola application servers from my Windows NT domain and added these two servers to my Windows 2000 Active directory domain. The NT domain and my 2000 domain have the same domain name. When I ran Macola in the new (W2K) domain, I received the error "SQL Error-Open failed Syspass-table not found" I cannot open Macola from any workstation or servers. After clicking OK on the error, I received "System Error:File Syspass.BTR is not open". I click OK again and I got "Abnormal Cleanup of MacSQLConnMan in MacMSS.dll, ***blah blah**". Is there anybody who can help? Many thanks in advance.

I have a couple of documents I could email you on this. Please give me your email address.

Also, is this happening on all workstations or only certain ones?

Finally, make sure the drive letters have not changed. Macola stores the physical drive letter, not the domain and path, of the data in the company setup file. If the physical domain and path are the same, but now on a different drive letter, Macola will give you this error. Software Sales, Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

dgillz,
The problem I have occurs on all workstations and even the macola database server itself. The physical drive and the mapped drive are identical to how they were when we were in NT4 domain. Please email me at administrator@svtr.com for the documents. Many thanks.

I am having a very similar problem. I switched a Win98 machine to Win 2000, and now I can open Macola and use it, but if I shut down and reboot I get the error: SYSPASS.BTR is not open. To fix this, I have to make sure every other user (all the rest of them using Win98) is logged out, and then delete the tmp files out of the users directory on the network. Then the Win2000 machine can log back in without an error, and everyone else can log back in also.

dgillz, I emailed you asking for the documents you mentioned above. If anyone else has any permanent fixes I would be very interested in them. I will be changing the rest of the machines on the network over to Win2000 later, but I really don't want this problem on every computer.

TIA

What operating system is your Macola application server running? If it is Win NT 4.0 you need to run dsclient.exe on it, and be at Service Pack 6.

Also, if your new domain server has the same name as your old domain server and you did a clean install vs an upgrade on the new domain controller, you can run into problems there as well.
