In the SQL Enterprise Manager, I expand my SQL server, and then expand the databases field. When I choose any of the databases on the left hand side, on the right hand side I don't get the normal database information screen. Instead I get the following error:
"An error occurred while trying to access the database information."
I don't see anything in any SQL logs or event logs. I searched Microsoft's Support site and have found nothing.
I am running SQL 7.0 SP3, and Windows 2000 SP1.

I am running SQL Advanced Server 2000 and have the same problem. I have 'taskpad' view turned on for each database and sometimes get the error that you mentioned. However, I just try again a few minutes later and it's back to normal. The only thing I can think of is that the database is updating its statistics or something at that time. But that's just a guess.

Thanks SQLBill
I had looked into it being something like that and could not find anything. The only difference is it happens to all my databases, and it fails every time I try.
