SQL E8602 - 83

Running Windows 2000, Arcserve 2000 SP3, MS SQL 2000

Backing up a database gives me a E8602 with (83) Remote Pipe Open failed. See the agent log for more details.

The agent log says:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'database'.

I have searched CA's website. I can't find anything. Any ideas?
