We have SQL 2000 server running on Windows 2003 server. Do I need to do anything with the server for DST 2007? I know we have to put patch on for the operating system(Windows 2003). Does SQL system pick time from Windows? If not, what do I have to do for the SQL 2000 server?

I have checked Microsoft website. They have patch for SQL Server 2000 Notification Services. What is the difference between "SQL 2000 server" and "SQL Server 2000 notification services"? How can I know if we have "SQL Server 2000 notification services"? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't need to do anything for the SQL server. It will get the datetime informaion from the system.

If you had notification services installed you would know it.

For SQL 2000 it's something that you have to specifically download and install.

We in the SQL Server world are lucky SQL pulls date/time information directory from the OS via API calls so as long as the OS is patched you will be fine.
