hello,
i must to do a backup for a database sql but i have not the agent .
My question that'i for backup my database, the best tha's i stop the database of i kan backup my database online

They Agent is only for backing up an open Database. However you can schedule SQL to perform a backup of a database to another file. Then Arcserve can succesfully backup the .bak file since it will not be open.
 
Sorry for the late reply, I've been caught up in a project lately...
epohl's right...Here are the instructions.
I'll assume you're using SQL 7.0

From the Enterprise Manager, drill down to the database(s) that you want to backup. Right click the database and Click on All Tasks, then click on Backup Database.

Do an Add in the Destination section and choose a folder that you want the backup file to be placed in. You may also choose to schedule the backup to run regularly by using the Schedule section just below the Destination section.

After the SQL backup is done, use ArcServe to backup the *.bak file that the SQL backup job places into the folder you specified. Treat the .bak file like any other file. Monkeylizard
