Does anyone know how to get around this error? It happens no matter what time I backup and it's on multiple database servers. Is there an agent that can lock the DB, or am I missing that option in setup? I have 10d with SP3 running and the SQL agent. I also have advanced open file agent, but I don't think that would help on SQL :) Maybe it will.

Here is the error:

An error occurred on a query to database dbname.
The item server\dbname in use - skipped

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Unintall the SQL agent. Create a maintenance plan in Enterprise Manager that backs up the databases. Then copy those backups to tape with BE.

ya of course. I thought the agent does the same thing as creating a maint plan tho ...

I don't trust 3rd party SQL agents. Once bitten twice shy, as they say...

ah, yeah I can understand that. It's just so easy :)
