SQL Backup fail.

Trying to get a SQL backup working and getting the following errors when i try running a nsrsqlsv backup.

If i run it from the Networker server i get this error:-
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

If i run it from the client CMD Prompt i get this error:-
Cannot connect to resdb database.

Any idea's would be very gratefully received.
 
I am not sure but a good start would be to verify the /nsr/res/servers files.

If you ever need to change one, do not forget to restart the NW services.
 
Use the networker user for SQL to connect to the database.
Do you have a "Windows Internal Database" ?
In this case only system services are authorized to connect to the database.

Networker supports onle SQL7,sql2000, sql2005 and sql2005 express. Most older MSDE are working fine too.
