sql analyzer disappeared

I recently installed sql server2000 on my win2k pro.
Any time I open up sql analyzer to do some coding,
it quickly disappears from screen.
When I go back to try to open it again, it is grayed out.
I have reinstalled it 3 times.
I can't continue to install and uninstall.
Any ideas why this is happening?
