We have 2 sites, 1 SQL database. the sites are connected via a vpn. The site that doesn't host the database are experiencing slow access times.

What do epople normally do to combat this? Have a mirroring database at the other site?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Database mirroring won't help as the mirrored database is not readable.

How fast is your internet speed at each site? What else is going across the VPN link? Is this a win32 application or a web based application? Is it an Access front end?

Internet is dedicated 2mb up / down at site A and dedicated 3mb up/down at Site B.

We have a trust relationship between the domains with AD. You can use either the win32 application (installed on the local pc) or the web browser to access the database. The web version has some limitations with the software.

It isn't an access front end, its a pre-designed app thats shipped with the product.

Thanks for your time!
