Hi

I'm replicating between 2 SQL 7 servers. Every now and again the replication fails on some of the databases due to a timeout. It is not consistant of the database or when it happens. Is there a seeting apart from incresing the polling that should sort this out.

I also find that when I open enterprise manager on the "backup" SQL server, the one doing the replication. I try to connect to the other SQL server and a connection can not be estabilished. So what I do is right click, click on properties and immediately it picks up the connection again.
Is this related?

What can I do
Many thanks

Sandy

1st I would say do not try to replicate all databases at the same time rather in sequence do to large Network trafic things will be slow an may time out if not mess up your replication.
2nd Replication create exclusive locks at destine databases that would also explain why you can not connect to it.
For most cases I would say that Replication in general are better on low usage time AL Almeida
