Hi,
I am doing backup of my databases and putting the backup files into a share on another server. Every backup is doing fine, Differential and full backups are done successfully, except for one particular full backup that just won't go complete. I can see that the job is creating the file on the server, I see it increasing steadily to the correct amount of data (about 2 Go) and then the job crashes with the following error message:

"BackupMedium::ReportIoError: write failure on backup device '\\minerve\public\Backup\AdServer_Summum\full_adserver'. Operating system error 5(Access is denied.)."

Anybody has any idea of what the problem might be? I can do the differential backup of that same database perfectly well btw...

thanks

How much disk space is left on the backup server? Make sure there is a lot of extra space - not just a little more than needed for the backup.

What other applications run at the same time on the backup server? Could one or more applications be running and temporarily usng disk space?
Terry
