SQL 6.5

I got an error that looks like this

257:370000:Implicit conversion from datatype 'text' to 'varchar' is not allowed.
Use the CONVERT function to run this query.

It only happens on one client.
I have updated the MDAC to 2.8.

It connects to a SQL 6.5 database
Tried every setting in the ODBC manager.

Please Help!!!!
