I recently upgraded a sql 6.5 server to 7.0. Operating system is WinNT 4.0. After installing the upgrade, converted the database and all appear well, til I tried to login to see if I could shrink the database. Now, I cannot log in. My agent for back up is also failing with "a network connection to device could not be established. Unable to attached to server."
In addition, when I start the enterprise console, it tells me I have not upgraded to 7.0 and will not allow me access. I checked the setup again of the upgrade to make sure the console was part of the installation and it was.
I am a non dba person. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
