OK, I am running Windows 7 Enterprise on my system. My db is SQL 2K on a Server 2003 box. Everything has been working well until this week I noticed if I try to use the EM to create a new table it crashes the MMC. I can create them with a script, but the fact that it is crashing and from 2 different machines... Has anybody else seen this?

SQL 2000's Enterprise Manager isn't supported on Windows 7. SQL 2000 uses MMC 1.0, while Windows 7 has MMC 3.0.

Also the table designer sucks, so you're better of scripting the tables and running the scripts in Query Analyzer.

You should probably look at upgrading the database from SQL 2000 to one of the three newer versions that have been released in the last 10 years.

Yes, I know we need to upgrade, but our software was built around SQL Server 7 and I am still trying to figure out if it will upgrade to 2005. Thanks for the info.

You might want to look into getting the Windows XP mode virtual machine and installing Enterprise Manager under that. It runs Windows XP as a virtual machine on your computer so legacy apps like this can work.
