Good Morning,
I have just been presented with a backup of a database from a site running SQL 2008 R2 (10.50.1600) and have tried to restore it into SQL 2008 (10.00.4000) and it will not restore.
Does anyone know whether this is possible?
Is SQL 2008 R2 a different version from SQL 2008 in the same way that SQL 2008 is different from SQL 2005 and 2000?

Many thanks for any info on this.

R2 backup is not compatible with any other versions :)
MS decisions, I don't know why.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll stop looking for a way of restoring the backup.
