SQL 2008 -question on clustering...

Have 2 SQL 2k8 servers in a cluster via Windows 2008 64 Ent MSCS.

I do not have any media attached storage, so when I look at the detailed of the quorum disk within Microsoft Clustering services it does not detect a disk available so hence no quorum disk.. this is not good.

The company I installed this for does not have a SAN or NAS.. and it won't allow me to just pick a drive letter from my primary server thats in the cluster to "point" to a configurable quorum disk.. is there any reason why this is so? I thought you could in fact use either C: drive or another logical drive letter -ex: I have a D: data volume set up with 100G space but its local server disk.. why is this not working?

Yet over all I have 2 nodes in this cluster, both nodes show as UP (green lights) but how can this be a valid cluster if quorum is not allowing me to set it up...

Thanks for any advice or tips on this..

Thanks

Microsoft Clustering requires shared storage (SAN) for use with SQL Server. Without having shared storage such as a SAN you can't install SQL Server in a cluster.
