Sql 2005

Any one knows how to configure the oracle client version 11 to talk to the Oracle Server? the Client is install on Sql 2005 server, I am sorry if I post the article in the wrong forum list.

Setup the Oracle drivers just like you would on any workstation. Once the Oracle drivers are installed and working correctly (tnsping and sqlplus work correctly) then you should be able to use the Oracle drivers via SQL Server to connect via a linked server (after you create the linked server on course).

sorry this is new to me, can you give the step by step please?
I was able to get the driver installed but not sure how to get the tnsname woring.

There should be a Net8 application which Oracle installed.

You'll need to ask over in the Oracle forums. I haven't installed the Oracle driver in years.
