SQL 2005 security

Good morning,

I am looking for some help around SQL server 2005 and how to setup users with different permissions.

I was trying to setup up people to have select only access to tables. however I found out that it seems to behave different to setting up users in SQL 2000

any help would be much appreciated

How are you trying to add the users to the role?

Use sp_addrolemember, the role you want to add them to is db_datareader.
