We have a SBS2003 Server with SQL 2000.(This has our important SQL 2000 d.base).

We have a dedicated Win 2003 Standard Term. Server in application mode.

My boss wants to evaluate the free trial of SQL 2005. Is it possible to install it on a dedicated Win 2003 Standard Term. Server in application mode? (We are a little worried about trying it on the SBS2003 server, as it has all of our important SQL 2000 data).

Can I get your advice on this? Thanks.

I have no idea what installing SQL Server (eval or not) will do to a Terminal Server. As a general rule, my workplace keeps Terminal Servers on their own Virtual Machines.

You might be able to do that, though. Install a VM on your Terminal Server box and stick SQL Server 2005 on the VM so you don't accidently disrupt the terminal services.
