Hi everyone!

We will be migrating from SQL 2000 to 2005 sometime this year. However, we’re also in the process of going to Active Directory from Novell Netware. Our main SQL servers are on Windows Server 2003. I’m not familiar with Active Directory and I’m still new to being a DBA.

* How will this affect our SQL 2005 migration (side-by-side)?
* What do I need to be on the look out for to ensure everything goes smoothly in regards to the SQL servers?
* What questions do I need to ask?
* Do I need to be concerned?

Thanks!!

The AD migration shouldn't really effect you.

Once the AD domain is setup, have a Windows Account setup on the domain for the SQL Servers to run under. Change the SQL Servers to run under this account.

After that there isn't much you need to worry about from the SQL Server side.
