I have configured the SQL Agent Alert as;

SQLServer:Latches
Average Latch Wait Time (ms)
Alert if counter (rises above) 2000

Now I receive an email every 15 seconds.
To check its accurace I add the same counters to the perfmon it doesn't show any at all. I ran the diskperf -y and still nothing.

So which is correct? Where else can I check because right now there is nobody working on the DB and it is just sitting there producing these errors.

Update:

Them email that I receive states;

DESCRIPTION: The SQL Server performance counter 'Average Latch Wait Time (ms)' (instance 'N/A') of object 'SQLServer:Latches' is now above the threshold of 2000.00 (the current value is 3914.00).
