Hi everybody,
I'm a bit confused about how to proceed with SQL Server 2005 hotfixes.
Most of our servers that have SQL Server 2005 have build 3159. I know there's a new security hotfix out (bulletin MS08-040) which we need to apply to our SQL servers. For those that currently have build 3152 or 3159, we can apply the hotfix (build 3233). For those that have a current build of 3042, there's a different hotfix, right?
My question is which ones do we apply for new installations of SQL Server 2005? I know to apply SP2. Normally we'd then apply the hotfixes for build 3152 (cumulative HF1) and then 3159. Now with build 3233, do we apply SP2, 3152, and 3159 first?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
