I hope this is the correct forum for this question. My website is hosted at Network Solutions and I’ve been using their MS SQL 2000 database for several years along with Enterprise Manager on my local machine to perform maintenance. I also used the EM Export function to back up my database to my machine (client) so I would always have a copy of the data (there is a lot). Recently NetSol upgraded to MS SQL 2005. I installed the new client interface on my local machine and connected with no problem and have been able to everything as before, except. Export is not available. With a little homework I found out that the DTSWizard needed to be downloaded and installed. I did and it worked the first time I tried. Unfortunately I have not been able to duplicate the process since that one time. I can connect with no problem with the MS SQL Mgr interface and do maintenance. But I cannot connect with the DTSWizard even though I’m using the same connection string as I did the one time I did connect. I’ve been working on this for several weeks and decided today to see if someone out there might have a suggestion or a fix? Thanks for any help anyone may be able to give me.

Thanks, I got it working. Don't ask me how. It's been a long two weeks but here is what I did. I had a database at the hosting location I could not connect to short of the one time at the beginning several weeks back. I logged into the hosting site and created a second database and was able to connect to it (different name and login id and pw). I disconnected and tried again to the original database and it connected. I was able to export and save locally (everything is backed up). Maybe something was corrupted and cached. I have no idea but I'm very happy. Thanks again and maybe this will help someone else. Riley

Hello again. I have another problem with the DTSWizard. From my earlier posts I was able to get the DTSWizard installed and working just fine, moving data back and forth, remote to local and local to remote. Since that post I’ve installed XP Pro on my workstation and reloaded everything as before (old system was 2000 Pro). SQL 2005 Express works just fine on XP. I can hit the remote database and do what’s needed. However, when I install the DTSWizard (SQLServer2005_DTS.msi) it seems to install ok and shows up in the add/remove programs as (SQL Server 2000 Designer Components). But the DTSWizard is not in the DTS folder. It looks to me like I’m downloading the wrong package from Microsoft but it’s labeled 2005. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled about 12 times this afternoon. Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thanks, Riley
